Safety Sensor System
If your garage door opener is flashing, it may be signaling an issue with the safety sensors. You have two safety sensors that sit on either side of your garage door floor. They sense if anything is underneath the garage door, which prevents the door from closing on anything. This is an extremely important safety feature, as it stops the garage door from closing on something, whether it be objects, kids, or pets.
The two safety garage door sensors have photo eyes that must align. If they become misaligned or something is obstructing their view, they may signal to the garage door opener that there’s an issue. More recent garage door opener models won’t let the garage door move if the safety sensors aren’t working. If your garage door opener is flashing, it’s most likely alerting you about the safety sensors. Give our team a call and we’ll take a look at your sensors, and perform your garage door opener repair quickly.
